I’ve made the decision to go on early maternity leave. Baby girl isn’t due until mid-April, but I’ve found that trying to juggle work, finding an available sitter, an ever changing toddler nap schedule was just too much in the end. Sure, lots of people have kids and work and make it look easy. It just got too overwhelming for me.  My pregnancy with Andrew was definitely a lot easier than with this little girl. We have been really sick for most of the winter as well, which has made things difficult. We are finally feeling better! Thank goodness! Hopefully I’ll be able to get more exercise and hear less about how “big” I am. Why say that to a pregnant woman anyway? I don’t really get it. We’re already hormonal and in most cases can’t help what our size is. If you’re too tiny you’re not eating enough, if you’re too big you’re over doing it. We can’t win.  There are other factors that play into this as well. We could be bloated or retain water. I’ve been on steroids for 10 days as well, which make you gain weight quickly. Just be kind to pregnant women. We really do know how big we are and honestly, asking us if we’re sure we’re not having twins is just insulting.

I’m actually excited about entering the nesting phase of pregnancy. I threw out a whole trash bag full of stuff from one bathroom this week! That was definitely the highlight of my day. We don’t need all that junk! My husband also threw away a box that he’s been holding on to for 9 years from an old computer! Double excitement for me! He tends to be a bit of a hoarder. We’re working on it though, right dear? I’m so proud of him because he’s been going through books that he no longer needs. We have about four boxes leaving the house for good. I love it! We still have lots to do before Elizabeth comes. Andrew will have a new room and will start sleeping in a big boy bed. I’m not looking forward to that part. I have a feeling we have a little boy who is going to be getting up a lot through out the night. Let’s hope I’m wrong! He’s been such a pleasure this week and we’ve had a lot of fun. It’s amazing how quickly these little guys grow up. Andrew has been talking so much and I absolutely love it. We can actually have conversations and he tells me things out of the blue. “Hear that plane, mommy?” He’s an amazing little boy and I can’t wait for him to meet his sister!

As you can see, all is well in my world! I hope you are well.
