Cupping has gained a lot of attention in the past few years, even though it’s been around for a long time! I was trained in MediCupping™ in 2015 and have enhanced my skills by taking a class in Cupping for Plantar Fasciitis in 2016 and the Level 2 MediCupping™ Class in 2017.
It’s been estimated that around 2 million people in the US deal with Plantar Fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis (PLAN-tur fas-e-I-tis) is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).
Plantar fasciitis commonly causes stabbing pain that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. As you get up and move more, the pain normally decreases, but it might return after long periods of standing or after rising from sitting.
MediCupping™ for Plantar Fasciitis works the same as cupping for the body, however, with the machine I can use different sized cup and I can break up adhesions in the feet that are causing restriction and pain. I highly recommend planning to come for at least 3 treatments. Each session lasts 45 minutes and I’ll work from the sacrum down. Tight calves cause tight feet!
